It is all about the sole!

It is all about the sole!

Hello hello,

Little question: do you know what the difference is between an indoor shoe and outdoor shoe?

You are still thinking… I’m pretty sure you are thinking about the comfort. Yes, you are right BUT it is more than that.

It is all about the sole (Interior and exterior)!

The sole is a key element of any kind of shoe and we often do not notice or look what kind of sole there is on a shoe that we want to buy. For a slipper, the sole has a key role and needs to have certain characteristics.

Let me make myself a little bit clearer :)

Deep dive into soles...

So, we have 2 kind of soles, interior sole (or insole) and the exterior sole.

The insole of a slipper for men, women and children comes in contact with skin. Therefore, we use natural quilted materials and 100% natural leather-skins to layer them up, to avoid the feet from heating up (no burning feet!) and to give you that cloudy feeling when you walk with your slippers.

We cover this cloudy layer up with an insole of flexible leather.

The exterior sole of a slipper is touching the ground and needs to be quite different from the insole. The sole of our slippers is made of split leather and we have chosen this material as it has many qualities:

  • It is a very solid and strong material to avoid rapid wearing out.
  • It is extremely flexible.
  • It avoids you from slipping on wet floors. (I believe we all prefer not to fall!!)
  • It makes no noise on any kind of grounds. (Perfect for April fool’s day, they won’t hear you coming!)
  • It does not make any marks in terms of colors or aspect.

In other words, the soles we use, make you feel you walk on air (and for a long long time)!

Hope this was interesting for you! And do not hesitate to send us an email if you have any questions:
