Who are the founders of Line Loup? 

Kathy and Emmanuelle are the 2 founders of the Brand Line Loup, specialized in luxury slippers.

Their strengths: career paths and complementary skill set.

Kathy studied Business communications and has worked for over 15 years in the advertising and marketing space. During this time, she has developed a real passion for e-commerce. Her last professional experience has given her the opportunity to develop Shutterstock, an american image bank in Europe, with great success.

Emmanuelle is artistic. As a little girl, she loved fashion, drawing, tissu materials. Naturally, she studied to become a designer, specialized in shoes. After several experiences, one being at Charles Jourdan in the design offices, she created, with success, her own brand that was sold for a couple of years in  the family business. Afterwards she only concentrated her efforts on the job as fashion buyer and Director of the 2 stores in Cannes but convinced that one day she would get back in the saddle...

How they met?

It is a story of a great friendship between 2 energetic women that has started during a diner at a friend’s house.

The friendship only got stronger over the years as they have become sisters-in-law. (Kathy got married to the brother of Emmanuelle).

The story about Line Loup and slippers

Kathy, the ambitious one, dreamed of creating and developing her own ecommerce store and use the years of experience and knowledge she had gathered.

Emmanuelle, the passionate one, had this great idea from quite some time to create a brand for slippers by using her skills and experiences in the fashion world.

Both women realized that their profiles were complementary and they could make their dream reality. The idea, a little bit crazy but very ambitious and totally feasible became a project they had in common.

And they created Line Loup with the ambition to change the world of slippers into the world of ‘indoor shoes’, based on fashion, luxury and quality.

The partnership was born !

Quality as a priority!

The importance of quality was very clear from the beginning for Kathy and Emmanuelle. Therefore they have recruited the bests craftsmen of the North of Italy, Lombardy to be exact, with whom they work in complete trust. After designing and creating the collections in France, Emmanuelle has visited all the little artisanal factories to perfection her models.

The factories have teams of 5 to 15 craftsmen that produce the slipper completely by hand. The leather is chosen with a lot of attention in different Italian tanneries.The tissue like velvet, tartan, cotton are also produced in Italy. Everything, really everything needs to be made in France or Italy, this is a part of the pact that both women follow strictly. They want the best quality and that is the reason they only work with craftsmen that respect the products and the traditions.

All craftsmen have a long experience transmitted for several generations, they love their work, and have a real passion for their job.

Unfortunately this skill and knowledge is disappearing and Line Loup has as a goal to help persist this tradition and to keep these factories alive by working together hand in hand.

Where does the name LINE LOUP come from?

Emmanuelle’s grandfather had created a family business called JACQUES LOUP, founded in 1941 in Cannes.

His wife, LINE LOUP, had contributed to the success of the company thanks to her excellent skills in detecting trends and a sharp eye on the quality of shoe productions.

Finding a name for the brand is not easy, but Kathy and Emmanuelle wanted to pay tribute to Line (put her in the spotlight) and all the women in the family by calling the brand LINE LOUP.
